Of Things that Ride Upon the Wind

Go and listen to the wind,
Hear the places it has been.

Close your eyes and let it trace,
It’s years of stories on your face.

For it will tell from whence it came,
And where it shall return again.

But to truly understand,
One must journey to it’s land.

Perched upon the tips of trees,
The wind can show itself with ease.

Watch the waves of passion rise,
Along the pines that line the sky.

Feel the power, ride the wind,
Release the fear that’s trapped within.

Catch a ripple in the sky,
Allow it’s singing deep inside.

Oh the songs the wind can sing,
And oh what joy the music brings.

The forest echoes back each chord,
Above it’s voice the eagles soar.

The blustery music fills the ears,
Till it becomes all that one hears.

Poets and dreamers all have known,
The music that the wind has shown.

But those who’ve taken to the sky,
Upon its wings have learned to fly.

In the chaos of my mind, I’d forgotten that I have acres of writings that I can post in my dry periods. Here is a poem I wrote during my college years, inspired by TREE SURFING! How appropriate. Incidentally I’ve noticed that my site ranks quite high in Goggle when one searches for the term “Tree Surfing”; that’s just cool. I love the internet.

I wouldn’t say that is an example of my best poetic work, but it seemed rather appropriate. I’ll eventually post some higher quality works later, unless the internet crowd starts throwing virtual vegetables, then I’ll go back to the notepad for something different.

By the way, feel free to comment on any of my writings here, even the older posts. I will always try to respond to your comments personally. I’m always interested in what my audience loves and/or hates. I’ll try to give you more of what you like and less of what you don’t.
